A Gem is a place you would go back to. A Lemon is a place you would not. A Gemlem is neither: not bad, and not a favourite.

That is the whole scale. There is no score out of five, and there is no page for the public to argue on.

You choose the mark when you save the place. The card takes a light wash of that colour, so you can see it before you read the note. You can also name one reason, if you want one: Service, Value, Quality, Cleanliness, or Ease. One reason only. A Gemlem can also name the weaker part. The two cannot be the same. You can leave both blank.

The note is a short paragraph, for you. Family, Friends, or Other can see it if you send them the card. Work does not see the note. The Gem Community does not see it either.

A Lemon does not go out into the world. A Gemlem does not either. You cannot send either of them to Work, and you cannot list either of them in the Gem Community. The Gem Community is not the open internet. Only other people who use Gems & Lemons can see a Gem you put there.

Your circle is not their circle. If you send a card to three friends, they can read that card. They do not send their places to you unless they invite you and send their own.
